He survived the attempt to kill him. Now he's accused of murder—and the woman he loves may be dead.
Private investigator Jimmy “Soldier” Riley wakes from a coma in wartime Panama City, broken, hunted, and haunted by the apparent loss of Lauren Lewis, the only woman he has ever loved.
Before he can begin to recover, someone comes to finish the job.
With the police pursuing him and powerful enemies determined to silence him, Jimmy is forced back into the shadowy streets of a city filled with corruption, betrayal, and murder.
Meanwhile, a sadistic killer is turning beautiful young women into grotesque works of art.
With the help of his loyal friend Clip, Jimmy must navigate a dangerous web of missing persons, murder accusations, and secrets that reach into the darkest corners of wartime Florida.
But one question haunts him more than all the others.
What really happened to Lauren the night everything fell apart?
As the bodies mount and the danger closes in, Jimmy discovers that surviving may be the easy part.
